CBS Bio Platforms earns GMP+ Certification at South Dakota facility

The Volga facility was commended for its well-maintained systems and smooth operations, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the entire team.

CBS Bio Platforms has completed the GMP+ Feed Certification Audit at its Volga, South Dakota, facility with only three minor non-conformances – all of which have already been addressed. This achievement places the facility in the final stages of GMP+ certification, reinforcing CBS Bio Platforms' commitment to the highest standards of feed safety and quality.

GMP+ (Good Manufacturing Practices Plus) is a globally recognized standard specifically designed for the animal feed industry. It ensures strict safety and quality compliance throughout the entire feed production chain. Certification enhances market access, builds customer confidence and strengthens regulatory compliance worldwide.

The Volga facility was commended for its well-maintained systems and smooth operations, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the entire team.

“This is an exciting time for the team here in Volga to reach this milestone,” said Josh Skatvold, director of operations at CBS Bio Platforms. “This was a major effort by all employees here in the Volga location but also the company as a whole. I am appreciative of the support from everyone to achieve this certification.”

This milestone reinforces CBS Bio Platforms’ commitment to feed safety management and supports its global market growth by streamlining product registration across multiple countries.

“With the GMP+ certification, we will be able to reach customers and livestock that we hadn't been able to reach before. This allows our footprint in South Dakota, Volga, and internationally to grow as we start to increase production,” Skatvold said.

With the audit successfully completed, final certification is expected within four weeks. CBS Bio Platforms will continue to keep stakeholders updated as the process concludes.
